What Foods Did You Crave Or Turn Away From During Pregnancy?

With my first pregnancy I craved chocolate birthday cakes with chocolate frosting from a local bakery. I was buying a huge one every week! Eggs and Mayo really upset my tummy. I couldn’t even look at them without wanting to throw up. This time around I am 10.5 weeks and caught myself craving french fries with lot’s of ketchup. Like the kind you get at the hockey area. Still dislike the eggs and mayo. My first child is only a year old so it hasn’t been too long for me.

  1. Before I knew I was pregnant, I craved hoggies. Now I’m a few weeks pregnant and I hate hoggies. I crave carrots and french fries. But I don’t like all french fries. The greasy ones make me sick and the very dry ones are nasty. I also crave chocolate but the doctor told me to avoid it. It is difficult for me to eat lunch and dinner cuz everything make me want to throw-up. I have to force myself to eat.

Cravings: cheetos, fruit roll ups (I know healthy right!), lettuce, mt. dew, pineapple (then that went away really fast), OJ, mexican food (like crazy, but it so helps my morning sickness so its worth it), lunch-ables, spaghetti o’s, cookies (for a while), Hersey bars, McDonald’s french fries, Wendy’s chicken sandwich, Sonic’s onion rings (although any other onions make me sick), rice crispy treats, crab rangoon (from the freezer section at walmart and not from the chinese place), snickers…wow, my baby craves a lot of bad foods, lol.
    Adversions: smell of meat cooking, lunch meat (ham mostly), pretezles, saltine crackers, sprite, pickles, milk, ice cream, pork chops (that ended badly), fried chicken, fish, tomatoes, pizza (thats a really bad one!)….that’s all I can remember.
    I could so go for some fruit roll ups right about now, but I’ll settle for my rice crispy treat instead.

  3. I craved all spicy foods and chocolate covered almonds the first trimester and into the 2nd. I couldn’t look at or smell eggs without gagging. But late 2nd tri and into my 3rd now, I can’t eat/smell mexican food, but I like eggs for breakfast. I’ve also been craving loaded potatoes with the skins–I guess because it’s high in potassium and baby’s brain needs it :) I have been a cheese-o-holic since the beginning.

I craved…carrots, ice cream sandwiches, tuna fish w/ pickles (that ended badly, I dont even wanna think about tuna again lol) oreo cookies, chocolate ice cream with potato chips, french fries w/ mayo (also ended badly, still cant eat mayo) hmmm i was like a human garbage disposal. If i was able to eat it, i was eating it. but those are the main things i craved. oh i also craved apple juice.
    I didnt like any kinds of beef jerky…not even slim jims! by fiancee eats those things like crazy and i couldnt stand the smell of them, let alone bring myself to eat one.

  5. My first pregnancy all i wanted was deep fried jalopenopopers!
    and i couldn’t stand to be around fast food! i would be in the car driving past a McDonald’s and i would throw up in my mouth from the slightest smell!
    this pregnancy all i want is pickles, and alfredo with egg shell noodles, my little man ONLY wants egg shell noodles.
    and i cant be around cheese, every time im in the kitchen i start getting really sick, and acidy because i can smell the cheese in the fridge =/.

  6. My cravings change almost every day! At 7 weeks, all I wanted to eat was apples. The smell of meat and fish cooking (especially frying) still makes me really nauseous, although I am almost out of the first trimester and it’s starting to subside.
    Lately, I’ve been eating swiss cheese on a roll with a deli pickle for lunch every day. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it! :)
    Although the weird thing is, my favorite food before getting pregnant was ice cream and now I don’t even eat it at all.

  7. I can’t touch Papa John’s pizza or OJ anymore. I used to love those 2 things. I am loving oranges right now. And I’m with the above poster, jalepeno cheddar poppers I could eat every day if I allowed myself to.

  8. So far the only thing I am really craving is applesauce. The other day my husband made this awesome turkey chili, that I couldn’t go near without getting sick.
    And then the smell of my once loved Indian food has started making me sick.

  9. I ate a TON of oranges when I was pregnant. Also, I ate a lot of tomato sandwiches. There wasn’t really anything that I couldn’t stand, not that I can remember anyway.

  10. i craved cooked sushi, baked potatoes with everything on it, steak, fried cheese cake, a few other things that i just cant seem to remember right now.

  11. I’m craving alot of moose track ice cream!
    And I guess i’m kinda turning away from hot dogs, every time I go to eat one I feel really sick and nauseous.

    im 31+5days and i have had no cravings at all feeling a little left out lol.
    I have gone off coffee though i cant even stand the smell of it.
